Once again Eshleman Elementary is showing its support for our troops stationed in Afghanistan by collecting socks for soldiers. Many of these men are stationed in the field, sleeping in tents, and do not have regular access to showers and laundry facilities. In order to keep their feet healthy and free from disease, we are collecting socks to be distributed among the troops. Mrs. St. John, our third grade teacher, has a nephew stationed in Afghanistan who will be helping with the distribution of socks. We will be collecting white or black tube socks or socks that are high enough to wear with combat boots. Donations of new socks may be placed in the box in the front lobby from now until February 14. Please consider this opportunity to support our troops serving abroad! It is great to model such service and outreach for our children.
