MU Public Weather Awareness Day

The Eighth Annual Millersville University Public Weather Awareness Day is an afternoon full of celebrating and experiencing everything about the weather. This event is designed for children and families, free and open to the general public from 11-3pm on Saturday, April 2nd 2016 at Pucillo Gymnasium on the campus of Millersville University.

Come produce your own weathercast in front of a green screen, participate in a trivia contest, see hands-on demonstrations, cool weather-related experiments and more. You will have the opportunity to meet and talk with people who make a living forecasting and watching the weather every day! Come check out a mobile radar unit called Doppler On Wheels (DOW) used on actual storm chases!

There will also be door prizes! These prizes will be given out around 1:30 PM and you must be in attendance to claim your prize. There will be a live weather balloon launch from our Weather Information Center! Snow cones, hot dogs, cotton candy, and popcorn will be provided, along with other light refreshments for FREE! Don’t miss it!
