Lancaster County Junior Envirothon
The past several years Eshleman Elementary School has had several teams participate in the Lancaster County Junior Envirothon. In order to make this happen we need parents to volunteer to teach the students the material after school. We are currently searching for these parents. We will need at least 4 volunteers in order to have this year’s envirothon teams.
Here is some more information on the Environthon:
The Envirothon is an environmental learning experience and competition. This year’s topic is “Forest Habitat” and will include information on birds, trees & shrubs, mammals and frogs and turtles. The completion will occur on May 9th and requires that the students participate in teams of five members.
This is a great, fun learning opportunity for your student. Whether or not our teams place in the competition, we will have a good time trying. Our goal is to learn something new, have fun, and do our best.
Parent volunteers will have to commit to educating the students during after school sessions. The sessions will start in the beginning of February and will continue until the competition in May. Study sessions will be held every Thursday, from school dismal until 4:45.
If you have any questions and/or are interested in helping with the environthon, please let Michele Braas know at firstname.lastname@example.org by January 22, 2018.
Note that if we get enough parent volunteers, the information regarding team selection will be distributed to the students on January 23rd.
