Snack donations

We are approaching PSSA testing time.  Each year, Eshleman teachers and staff work hard to take the worry out of PSSAs.  We do this by having whole school morning dancing, snacks, and a post-PSSA movie.

PSSA testing for students in grades 3 – 6 will be taking place as follows:

ELA (English Language Arts) – April 15-17, 2019

                             Math – April 24 & 25, 2019

Science (grade 4 only) – April 30 & May 1, 2019

If you would like to help us during the “Show what you know” sessions (i.e. PSSA testing), please consider donating snacks.  Students appreciate having a snack while they “do their best on the test” and we would like to provide them with a small nutritious snack each day.  To help with this, we are looking for donations of the following (assigned by grade level to help us receive a variety of snacks for 3-6 which are distributed daily across the grade levels):

Grade 3 – bulk size containers of Goldfish crackers

Grade 4 – bulk size containers of animal crackers or large bags

Grade 5 – bulk size containers of pretzels or large bags of stix

Grade 6 – bulk size containers of fruit snacks

Other PSSA fun time needs:  Trident bubble gum, LifeSavers hard candy, Oreos, bulk size of individually wrapped SmartFood popcorn or individually packaged pretzels (for post celebration – K-6).

Donations are optional and may be dropped off April 10 – April 18 to the school office from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  If you have any questions, please call the school office at 872-9540, ext. 3600.

*Please note: if your child is in grade 3 through 6, we do recommend that a water bottle be brought along beginning April 15th

We have identified the following as ways to make testing not too bad:

– Getting a good night’s sleep – Exercising before the test
– Eating breakfast – Laughing at the dancing
teachers
– Chewing gum or having hard
candy
– Snacking
– Staying hydrated (bring water
bottles)
– Celebrate our accomplishments

Thanks so much for helping us make the PSSA time enjoyable for our students.
