Due to weather conditions, all Penn Manor schools will shift to full remote learning status for all students on Thursday, February 11. Students should not come to the building today, February 11. We plan to resume in-person learning on Friday, February 12.
Teachers will communicate to students through their Google Classroom, Moodle, or Seesaw pages assignments for students to complete by the end of the day. Students will sign in and follow the teacher’s expectations for the class.
Students’ attendance will be based on completion of assignments by midnight of the virtual snow day.
If special arrangements are needed for students, parents should contact their child’s school principal via email.
We are so excited to share our VIRTUAL VERSION of our Penn Manor Lunch and Learn. If you click below, you will see a presentation about the Lunch and Learn book we selected for the month of February. You will also find activities associated with this story. All of our elementary schools have copies of these books for the children who participate in our Lunch and Learn activities. If you are interested in picking up your copy of this book, please contact the building secretary to arrange a drive by pick up. Enjoy!
As a reminder, we will host a lunch and learn event every month until the end of school. Please check back for our next lunch and learn in March.
All future snow days will be virtual instructional days
Due to the cancelation of school on December 17 and February 1 and 2, all scheduled weather make-up days for the 2020-2021 school year have been exhausted.
As a result, any additional weather-related school closures will be virtual instructional days (also known as “cyber snow days”) which have been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Teachers will post assignments to their Google Classroom, Moodle or SeeSaw pages for students to access on these days. Students will receive thorough instructions and a description of expectations for what they are to complete during the virtual snow day.
Secondary teachers will post assignments by 8 a.m., and elementary teachers will post assignments by 9:30 a.m.
Students are expected to submit completed assignments by midnight of the virtual snow day. Student attendance will be based on the submission of assignments.
Teachers will schedule two office hours during which they will be available to students for questions and/or instruction — one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon within the school day.
As a result of the school closures so far this winter, the previous snow make-up days of March 19, April 1 and April 5 are now regular instructional days.
Public input sought on PM superintendent’s performance
Penn Manor is seeking input from parents and community members on the performance of superintendent Dr. Mike Leichliter so the school board and superintendent can assess his strengths and areas in need of improvement.
The online survey is available here via the Survey Monkey tool, which is easy to use and includes an open-response area where community members may share their opinions directly with the superintendent and Penn Manor board of school directors.
All nine school directors will review the comments and summary scores.
Even those who do not feel they have had enough interaction with Dr. Leichliter to fully evaluate his performance are urged to take this survey to share their overall impressions of Penn Manor School District.
Surveys should be completed no later than February 19.
All Penn Manor schools are operating on a two-hour delay, modified Kindergarten schedule on Wednesday February 3, 2021.
2 Hour Delay with Modified Kindergarten-Students will be picked up by the bus two hours later than regularly scheduled. Morning Kindergarten students begin at 11:00 and will be dismissed at 12:45 pm for parent pick up. Afternoon Kindergarten can be dropped off at 1:45 and they will be dismissed beginning at 3:18 pm.

Attention 2021-2022 kindergarten families,
Many of our families need full day care for children who are attending a half day kindergarten program. Penn Manor is proud to partner with the YWCA of Lancaster to provide WRAP care for children. If your child is enrolled in kindergarten for the 2021-2022 school year and is in need of WRAP services, please review the information below and contact Charles Linares at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or an enrollment packet.
